A Carmi man is due back in court in about a month following his arrest. White County Sheriff’s Deputies say 45-year-old Curtis Paul Martin of rural Carmi showed up at their office Thursday afternoon to renew his sex offender registration. In the process, the deputy found Martin was wanted on a warrant related to a September 2024 arrest in which he was charged with Felony Driving on a Revoked or Suspended License (for the fifth time) along with misdemeanor charges of Criminal Damage to Property and Criminal Trespass to Land for destroying crops belonging to Don Spaetti. The warrant was issued later that month. Martin was subsequently booked and let go due to the warrant being PreTrial Release.
