Hamilton County is preparing for the June primary. Three candidates are vying for the position of County Clerk and Recorder. Staci Barker will face off with Heather Bowman in the Republican primary. Sam Wilson is unopposed on the Democratic side. Sarah Hall, Clint Hopfinger, and Tracy Lakin are running unopposed for Treasurer, Supervisor of Assessments, and Sheriff, respectively.
Hamilton County’s Board isn’t broken into Districts. Instead, candidates run at-large. As many as 5 Republicans and 5 Democrats move on following the primary. There are 10 candidates running, but 6 are Republicans and 4 are Democrats. All of the Democrats will move on to the General. They are Sherry Henderson, Mary Anne Hopfinger, Holden Jackson, and Bret Webb. The Republican who receives the lowest vote total on June 28th won’t make it to the November election. They include John Chapman, Jimmy Johnson, Adam Little, John Mead, Ron Winternheimer, and Kelly Woodrow. In November, voters will choose five of the remaining nine candidates.
