Enfield Village Board Meeting Recap – April 20

The Enfield Village Board met last night for their regular monthly meeting.   Scott Mareing has the report for TOC/WROY/WRUL News…

The main issue at the meeting was the purchase of a new utility department truck.  They had already received some bids on both new and used trucks, but nothing that stood out.  After much discussion the board members decided that they would look at getting bids on a new truck with a snow plow attachment and hopefully purchase one at next month’s meeting.

In the police report, Chief Mark Worlds is looking at getting grants for body cameras and in-car cameras for the department, in which the village would be reimbursed for most of the cost.

In the utilities report, a new one inch water meter was installed at the solar farm, they moved a water line at the IDOT building, and moved a gas line and a water meter for two residents.

In the park report, Mayor Tom Harbour thanked everyone that helped out at the Easter Egg Hunt and noted that they had a nice turnout.

The board accepted the only bid on the property on Sacramento Street from Mike Smythe for $4,162 to be possibly be used in the future as a yard barn.

It was decided to again forgive liquor license fees for the next quarter due to the pandemic.

Two residents have removed junk cars from their properties, but one has already replaced them with some others.

Finally, the board went into a 15 minute executive session with no action taken.
