The Mt. Carmel Police Department and the Wabash County Coroner’s Office is investigating a death that occurred Wednesday morning. At approximately 8:39 am, Mt. Carmel Police received a 911 call informing them of a stabbing at 909 N. Cherry Street in Mt. Carmel. Police arrived shortly after the call and found a deceased female. The suspect, Ruben A. Corzine, age 32, of Mt. Carmel, was located at the scene and arrested. He was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he is being held without bond. The name of the victim has not been released at this time. There will be more information as it becomes available. The Mt. Carmel Police were assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office, Wabash General EMS, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.
