Mt. Carmel Police Have Busy Week; Many Arrested

01/16/2020-Mt. Carmel Police arrested Tyler E. Garrett, age 33, of Allendale on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.  Police originally were called to a residence in the 1100 block of Market Street in reference to two men fighting.  Before officers arrived on scene they advised one of the parties involved drove from the scene in a white Chevrolet truck.  Police caught up with the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop and found Garrett to be the driver.  During the investigation, it was believed Garrett was under the influence.  Police arrested Garrett and transported him to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with DUI.  Garrett was released after posting bond.
01/17/2020-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 35-year-old Jaymie L. Wilkinson of Allendale for driving on a revoked driver’s license.  Police observed Wilkinson operating a motor vehicle and knew she was revoked.  Police stopped the vehicle and placed Wilkinson under arrest.  Wilkinson was cited for driving revoked and was released after posting bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 33-year-old Daniel S. Franklin of Evansville after police stopped the vehicle he was driving after noticing the registration was expired.  During the traffic stop, it was discovered he was driving on a suspended license.  Franklin was cited for driving suspended and released.  RDT
Two Mt. Carmel men were charged with battery after police were called to the 800 block of Poplar Street in Mt. Carmel.  Police reported that Jeffrey W. Stanley, age 60, and Larry Dean Parker, age 58, were fighting across from the Eagles Club.  Police charged both subjets and they were later released.  Mt. Carmel Police were assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office and Wabash General Hospital Ambulance Service.
01/18/2020-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 29-year-old Daniel Tennis of Mt. Carmel after police observed him operating a motor vehicle.  The arresting officer knew Tennis was driving on a revoked driver’s license.  The arresting officer initiated a vehicle stop and placed Tennis into custody.  Tennis was cited for driving revoked and released after posting bond.
01/19/2020, Mt. Carmel Police arrested 38-year-old Jordan L. Sayge of Mt. Carmel on a charge of disorderly conduct.  Police reported that Sayge was being unruly while at the VFW.  Witness stated that Sayge was upset because his name wasn’t drawn for the Queen of Hearts drawing.  Sayge then tried to hit another patron in the bar.  Sayge was confrontational with the police and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct.  Sayge was held overnight and then released.  More charges could be filed.  Police were assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff’s Office.
01/20/2020-Mt. Carmel Police arrested 27-year-old Dylan J. Foote on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant.  Police located Foote in the 600 block of W. 5th Street and placed him under arrest.  Foote was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was held pending the posting of $200.00 cash.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested 48-year-old Michelle L. Johnson of Mt. Carmel after police were notified that an off-duty Illinois State Trooper had stopped an intoxicated person at the intersection of 3rd and Walnut Street.  MCPD Officer’s arrived on the scene and found Johnson to be the driver.  The arresting officer reported that Johnson appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.  Johnson was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was held pending the posting of bond.
