NCOE School Board Met Monday; Tax Levy Approved

The NCOE School Board met for their meeting on Monday, December 16th at 7:00 p.m.

The bills and the November minutes were approved as presented.

The School Board approved the 2019 tax levy as presented by Mr. Vollman. Amounts levied were $990,000 for education; $210, 000 for operation and maintenance; $110,000 for transportation; $25,000 for working cash; $155,000 for municipal retirement; $130,000 for tort immunity; $22,250 for special education purposes; $120,000 for social security purposes; and $26,000 for fire prevention and safety.

The Principals all reported that the Christmas Concert for the Jr. High and High School Band and Choir was a success. The buildings have participated this month in collecting canned goods for the local food pantries.

Mrs. Valissa Sutton and the FCCLA had a successful bread week. A total of 1,367 loaves of bread were sold.

The elementary Christmas Programs will be tonight, December 18th at 5::30 p.m. at Booth and 7:00 p.m. at NCO. Also, Booth will be hosting a basketball game on Thursday, December 19th.

The Board held the first reading of several new Board Policies. No action was taken.

Mr. Wehlermann thanked Wild Bunch Athletics for the use of their facilities for the Red and White Dance last week.

It was agreed to let gas/diesel bids. Bids will be presented at the January 15, 2020 Board meeting.

The Board went into executive session to discuss personnel. Upon returning to open session, the Board approved Baylee Sutton as volunteer assistant cheer coach.

The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
