NCOE School Board Met Wednesday Night

The NCOE School Board met on Wednesday, November 20 for their regular monthly meeting. The minutes and bills were approved as presented.

The December Board meeting date was rescheduled to December 16th at 7:00 p.m. The date was moved due to the scheduling of the elementary Christmas programs. The programs are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Booth and 7:00 p.m. at NCO on December 18th.

The Board accepted the intent to levy taxes next month.

Nine bids were presented for the commercial and worker’s compensation insurance renewals. The Board voted to accept the bid from ICRMT for the commercial package and StarStone for the worker’s compensation coverage. The district will see a 21.19% savings.

Superintendent Vollman presented to the Board the opportunity to participate in a matching maintenance grant program. The Board gave approval to proceed with the application process.

In School news:

The Red and White basketball game will be at the high school Friday (tonight), November 22 at 6:00 p.m. The spaghetti dinner will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the high school and the dance will start at 8:00 p.m. at Wild Bunch Athletics building.

Dental Safari has been in the district this week with many children participating in their services. The School Report Card shows all schools in the district receiving a commendable rating.

On December 19th, Booth Elementary will be hosting the jr. high basketball game against Wayne City.

The high school hosted a Veteran’s Day program on November 8th. It was well received, and many compliments were given from the community. Thank you to the teachers for getting students involved in the program and to those students that participated. The FCA club was thanked for hosting a breakfast that morning for the Veteran’s. Also thank you to Principal Wehlermann for contributing his time and efforts to the program.

The Board and Administrators congratulated the coaches and the volleyball team for their outstanding season and their 4th place trophy at State. They also wanted to thank the Red Army for their efforts and support.

The Board met in executive session to discuss personnel. Following the executive session, they accepted the resignation of SueElla Carter as personal aide at NCOE Jr. High.

The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
