The annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 11th at the VFW Carmi. The event was moved due to the impending inclement weather forecast for today. Following an introduction from Gene Young, Roscoe Templeton will offer an opening prayer. That will be followed by the playing of the National Anthem by Mike Crogan and Steve Bell, the Pledge of Allegiance by Boy Scouts Troop 345, opening remarks from Mayor Jeff Pollard, remarks from Paul Hayes of the Sons of the American Legion, remarks by the Elks, and remarks by the Daughters of the American Revolution Wabash Chapter. This year’s keynote speaker will be Gene Young. His speech will be followed by the playing of TAPS by Mike Crogan and Steve Bell, and a closing prayer from Roscoe Templeton will round out the ceremony. Sandwiches will be served at the VFW following the ceremony. A special thanks to Carmi Wal-Mart for donating the food.
