A 40 year old Carmi man, Louis Donald Napoleon is lodged in the White County Jail as of 1:45 Tuesday morning (this morning). Carmi Police Officers were dispatched to a fight in progress at 1304 Oak Street. While trying to separate Louis Napoleon and Bruce Merritt, Merritt was struck and the responding Officer, Sgt. Spence was kicked by Napoleon. As a result, Napoleon was placed under arrest for Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer and Domestic Battery. A search of Napoleon’s person at the White County Jail found him to be in possession of a large amount of Xanax pills in his pocket. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Online records do not indicate a court date as of yet for Napoleon.
