31 year old Kevin Michael Rector is lodged in the White County Jail this morning (Tuesday) following a domestic dispute with his mother Monday morning. Carmi Police were called to 1016 E. Main Street around 8:50 Monday morning in reference to a verbal and physical fight in progress. Upon the officers’ arrival, the parties had separated. Kevin Rector was arrested without incident for Domestic Battery after his mother, Tamera Rector, told officers the two had initially gotten into a verbal argument that escalated with Kevin grabbing his mother’s neck and shoving her to the ground in an attempt to get her cell phone after she informed him she was calling the police. This is not the first misdemeanor domestic battery charge for Rector. Online court records show previous charges including a felony charge for Aggravated Battery which resulted in a 5 year Department of Corrections sentence back in 2011. Records do not indicate a court date as of yet on the new charge.
