Carmi Man Sentenced Tuesday To Illinois Department Of Corrections

A 23 year old Carmi man will spend some time in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Tuesday, in White County Court, Judge T. Scott Webb sentenced Anthony W.E. Parrish to 4 years in the Department of Corrections to be followed by 1 year of Mandatory Supervised Release, on a Class 3 Felony of Possession of Methamphetamine and 4 years in the Department of Corrections and 1 year Mandatory Supervised Release on a Class 4 Felony of Obstructing Justice. Parrish was arrested by Carmi Police back in August on a felony warrant out of Wabash County. When officers caught Parrish in the 500 Block of Elm Street, he was found to be in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. In addition to his felony charges, Parrish was initially charged with misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing identification. He also faced two civil citations, one for possession of cannabis, less than 10 grams and an additional possession of drug paraphernalia, this one a civil citation. Parrish was recommended to participate in the Impact Incarceration Program (“Boot Camp”).
