Carmi Police Nab Another Dollar General Thief; Another Day, Another Meth Arrest

Carmi Police made an arrest early this morning.  Just after 5am, 37 year old Brandon Albright of rural Carmi was pulled over near Main at Jessup for driving 44 mph in a 30 zone.  Upon investigation, the officer found Albright was driving on a suspended license.  Albright was cuffed and charged with Driving While License Suspended.  He bonded out just before 7:30 this morning with $200 cash and an associated $70 fee.


Another day, another meth arrest.  Monday night nearing 11pm, Carmi Police were making a body attachment warrant arrest on Church at Cherry Street.  That’s when they found 50 year old Jack Weasel, of rural Carmi to be in possession of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and meth.  He was also charged with unlawful use of a vehicle.  He remains behind bars.


A Schumaker Street, Carmi man is free on bond following his arrest by law enforcement Monday afternoon.  It was just after 2:30pm when Carmi PD were called to the Dollar General again on a report of another shoplifter.  Arrested for retail theft was 58 year old Phillip Burton.  He was allegedly attempting to steal torch lighters and also foundation makeup.  Burton got out of jail on $100 bond and booking fee around 3:30.
