Grayville Arrests Made

Grayville Police arrested 36 year old Billy Smith Wednesday this week.  He was charged with Domestic Battery and had two arrest warrants as well.  Grayville law enforcement was called to 620 West Spring Street to handle a domestic dispute.  Once there, Robin Smith told Police that Billy had become angry after a dispute with her children that also live there.  According to the report, courtesy of Chief Mann, Smith allegedly became physical leaving marks on two children and also threw a small table at one.  A complaint was signed and Smith was jailed.  One of his warrants for a failure to appear out of Edwards County; the other was out of Clay County for writing bad checks.

A 37 year old Grayville man is due in White County court Monday for a status hearing.  Chief Mann tells us Shawn Jones was taken into custody Wednesday on a Failure to Appear warrant out of White County.  He was found after 10pm at his home on West Spring Street.  State’s Attorney Denton Aud says Jones had been previously sentenced to probation in 2018 on a meth related offense and charge of unlawful use of property.  Failing to appear at a review hearing resulted in that warrant.
