White County Sheriff’s authorities fielded a theft worth more than $500 report Sunday morning. Carmi resident Stephen Niehaus told a White County Sheriff’s Deputy about 11:30am Sunday that someone had gone on to property he’d purchased in Maunie and removed all the green tin off the side of one of the sheds on the property. Niehaus estimates the theft would have had to have happened within the last week.
Friday afternoon, Marilyn Hughes of Norris City told White County Sheriff’s Deputies that someone took a blue Campbell Hausfield portable air tank from her property. Hughes describes the tank as a 5 horsepower with a 20 gallon capacity. In addition, the Norris City woman says during the week prior, she believes someone took a full can of gasoline from the same property.
