McLeansboro Man Accused of Stabbing Woman Arrested Again

Nathan Irby, the same man arrested last week by McLeansboro police for stabbing a woman in the foot with an ink pen is behind bars again.  McLeansboro authorities were notified the 37 year old had posted bond on Friday.  As a condition of that bond, Irby was to have no contact with Brittany Stroud, the woman he stabbed.  Police received information Saturday that Stroud and Irby were together at Irby’s residence.  When officers arrived, they found Irby driving away prompting a traffic stop.  Irby subsequently fled and was later located at a home north of town.  Following what law enforcement calls a brief standoff, Irby was taken back into custody on violation of bond and also charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding along with several minor traffic offenses.  More charges are likely according to Chief Nathan Taylor pending further investigation.  Irby remains jailed in the White County Jail pending a bond hearing.
