The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch for the entire listening area to run Thursday afternoon through Sunday evening. Meteorologists say we can expect heat indeces to run up to 110 degrees each afternoon. Officials warn that several days of excessive heat like what we’ll experience can have what they call a cumulative effect on some folks, especially those who work outdoor. The extended period of high heat and combined humidity can worsen the already terrible effects of heat stress. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioning if and when possible, avoid the sun as much as you can and be a good neighbor. Check up on those around you.
