38 year old Russell Wardrip of Third Street in Carmi was in court Wednesday morning following his arrest late Tuesday evening. Wardrip was picked up on Fairground Road at a quarter before midnight on a misdemeanor warrant arrest for theft of less than $500. In addition, Wardrip is now facing two new charges including possession of hypodermic needles as well as a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. Court records indicate Wardrip had a first appearance Wednesday morning and will have a bail review on Monday. A preliminary hearing has been set for July 24th.
