State Representative Darren Bailey will be in Fairfield today to formally announce his intention to seek the 55th State Senate District seat. Bailey’s announcement will be held at the Wayne County Courthouse, 301 East Main in Fairfield, at noon. The seat is currently held by Dale Righter, who recently announced he wouldn’t seek reelection. Righter ran unopposed in 2016 and defeated challenger, Mike Parsons by a near 69% to 31% vote in the Republican primary.
