Farm Credit Grant Presented to 4-H Federation

Farm Credit Grant Presented to 4-H Federation

Farm Credit Illinois recently awarded a community improvement grant for $500 to the White County 4-H Federation. The club used the grant funds to build four new raised beds for the White County 4-H G.I.F.T. Garden, (Growing Illinois Food Together).
The Federation was one of 50 4-H clubs and FFA chapters to receive a community improvement grant. In 2019, Farm Credit Illinois has awarded a total of $25,000 in grant funds to clubs and chapters making tangible contributions in their communities by implementing an improvement project.
Summer classes began at the GIFT Garden and will continue each Tuesday in June and continue through August 6 starting at 9am until 11:00am. Any child age 5 and older can attend. Come and have some fun with us! 4-H is currently taking new members, if anyone is interested in joining a club call the Extension office at 618-382-2662 or attend the next club meeting of your choice! If you have special needs, just let the office know.
Also, if you are interested in 4-H workshops or would like to see what 4-H is doing throughout the year take a look at our Facebook page by searching “White County Illinois 4-H.”. Be sure to “Like” our page so you don’t miss anything happening in White County.
