Motorcycle Crash Send Two to Hospital
A motorcycle rider and his passenger were transported to an out of state hospital following a crash Wednesday afternoon in Gallatin County.
According to the Illinois State Police traffic report, Norris City residents, Christopher Fields, 44 and 43 year old Renata Field were injured when they crashed into a pickup turning left onto Illinois Route 141 from Vine Street.
The truck was driven by 27 year old Carol Steele of New Haven, who apparently did not see the motorcycle and turned into its path. Steele was not injured in the crash and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The highway was shut down for some time as authorities dealt with the crash.
Illinois State Police were assisted at the scene by Gallatin County Sheriff’s Department, Ridgway Police, Gallatin County EMS, Air Evac, Omaha Fire Department and Jones Towing and Hoskins Towing.
