While the high school softball and baseball season have ended for the Carmi White County Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs, there is still summer recreational league ball to fill the evenings and beginning next week, American Legion baseball gets underway.

The Carmi Legion team will be in action Wednesday, May 29. The doubleheader will get underway at 6 in McLeansboro.

The locals travel to Fairfield, June 2 for a 1:30 doubleheader, and then Tuesday, June 4, the Carmi team will face Mt. Vernon, Indiana, there for a 6 o’clock game.

The Legion team will be at home Wednesday, June 5 as they host Evansville Pate at 7 that evening.

Friday, June 7, the locals travel to Princeton for a 6:30 game and then Sunday, June 9 the legion team will face Harrisburg at 1:30 for a doubleheader.

The American Legion baseball team will play at home the following week against Poseyville, Boonville, Newburgh and Mt.Vernon, Ind., on Wednesday, June 12, Thursday, the 13th, Saturday the 15th and Tuesday, June 18.

The locals will be at home against McLeansboro on June 19 and Grayville Sunday, June 23 for a doubleheader.

The locals round out June with games against Newburgh, Fairfield and Boonville.

In July, it’s Poseyville, Evansville Pate, Grayville and Carrier Mills. The Grayville and Carrier Mills games on Friday, July 5 and Sunday, July 7 are both doubleheaders.
