Golfers and Sponsors needed for Chamber golf tournament; Money to benefit CWC Students

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce will host their annual Golf Tournament Saturday, June 22 at the Carmi Country Club. Golfers are needed for both the 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. shotgun start.

The scramble tournament format features four-person teams at a cost of $50 per player, which includes all green fees, cart fees, lunch and dinner. Each member of the winning team will receive a $100 gift certificate to the country club. Members of the second-place team will each received $50 country club gift certificates, and third-place team members will receive $25 gift certificates.

Prizes will also be awarded for the longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin contests.

“A $10,000 cash prize will be awarded to any golfer fortunate enough to hit a hole-in-one on one of the designated holes that day,” said Chamber Director Lauren Higginson “The money raised will be used to continue the Chamber’s scholarship program, continue competitive classroom grants for Carmi White County teachers and toward investing in the White County CEO Program.” Higginson noted.

Lunch will be provided for all golfers and sponsors from noon to 1 p.m.

Deadline for golf registrations is Friday, June 15th. Sponsorships of various levels are also available to fund the event, beginning at $100.
