McLeansboro Man Arrested on Drug Charges
Carmi Police arrested a McLeansboro man after he was pulled over following a check of his vehicle registration.
The check revealed Brian A. Zoph, 41 was driving on a suspended license. Zoph was stopped and taken into custody for the traffic violation at which time, Carmi police found a pouch containing paraphernalia with residue that later tested positive for methamphetamine. The pouch was found while authorities were running an inventory of the vehicle.
Zoph was charged with driving while license suspended, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Zoph remained in custody early Monday, following his arrest just before midnight Sunday night.
Local police also arrested Dawn Laree Brennan, 46, of 305 Fifth Street, carmi. Brennan was arrested with incident on a charge of reckless conduct after being cited for improper walking on roadway about an hour prior to her arrest.
Bond was set at $150, but Brennan remained in custody early Monday.
