Eldorado Senior Signs to Bowl for SIC
Eldorado High School senior Ben Byrd inks his intentions to compete for the Southeastern Illinois College Bowling Team during the 2019-20 United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season.
SIC’s Head Coach Doug Cottom has nothing but praise for Byrd.
“We really look forward to having Ben in our program the next two years. I had the good fortune of watching Ben in practice every day for the Eldorado team, and I can tell you no one worked harder and showed more enthusiasm for the game,” said Cottom. “SIC is getting a good one!”
Byrd replied, “I appreciate the opportunity, and I’m looking forward to working with Coach Cottom to improve my bowling skills while furthering my education at SIC.”
Byrd plans to major in business management and accounting while at SIC.
The 2019-20 season marks the second year for Southeastern’s bowling team and will find the Falcons, eight men and eight women strong, competing in Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee, and Missouri in search of a national championship.
