McLeansboro Electronic Pickup
The law says no person may knowingly cause or allow “covered and or eligible electronic devices” to go into the trash, into the landfill or to be incinerated.
Those items include computers, computer monitors, televisions, printer, electronic keyboard, fax machines, video players, MP3 players, game consoles, and other electronics.
Now, that you know what you cannot dispose of haphazardly, here’s a way of getting rid of a number of those items;
There will be two electronic recycling days coming up this week in McLeansboro.
The days. Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26, will see collections running from 9 both mornings until 3 in the afternoons.
The drop-off/pick up site will be at the Trade Industries at 1610 South Jackson Street in McLeansboro.
There will be a $5 charge for televisions and computer monitors. Those dropping off electronics are limited to seven devices per vehicle.
The earlier listed items, plus video disc players, video game consoles, electronic mouse, scanners, converter boxes, cable receivers, satellite receivers, video recorders, servers, mobile telephones, computer cables, digital assistant drives or zip drives will be accepted. No other items will be accepted.
The Electronic Recycling Day is provided by the Hamilton County Health Department and McLeansboro Trade Industries.
