Fifth Graders Collect for Animal Control Shelter
Washington Attendance Center’s 5th Grade class was challenged to raise money to celebrate their 1000th day of school. They were asked to bring in dimes for this fundraiser. In five days the entire 5th Grade class accumulated a total of $702.50, all in dimes.
The students were given a list of 5 local charities and asked to choose one they would like to donate to. They all agreed to donate the money to the City of Carmi Animal Control Shelter.
Students from Washington Attendance Center’s 5th Grade class visited City Hall and presented their check to Mayor Jeff Pollard and City of Carmi Animal Control Officer Linda Aud.
