Cool Em Down Fundraiser

Earlier this year, the White County Board approved the installation of an air conditioner at the White County Animal Shelter, providing it did not cost taxpayers any money.

With that in mind, Animal Control Officer Wayne Spicer and others launched efforts to make sure the county did not incur any expenses this summer when the air conditioner will be used.

Efforts are underway to make sure there is plenty of funds to cover the expected increased cost of electricity when the AC is running.

An acoustic Jam Session Fundraiser has been planned for Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Carmi Elks Lodge on Cherry Street. The jam will get underway around 7:30 and continue through closing around 11:30 that evening.

A $5 dollar cover charge is being asked, with the money to benefit the Cool Em Down campaign.

Some of White County’s most talented musicians have agreed to lend their talents to the jam session, which promises to be filled with some great local music.

One may also make a donation to the Cool Em Down fund at First Bank, here in Carmi.
