Carmi Council Meeting Tuesday
The Carmi City Council will meet for the first of its two regular monthly meeting this (Tuesday) evening at the council chambers for a fairly light agenda.
The aldermen and alderwoman will be asked to consider a request from the Police Committee about purchasing a new vehicle for the Carmi Police Department.
That is the main action item on the agenda. Other matters to be covered include reports from the standing committees and any business or comments from visitors.
Carmi Mayor Jeff Pollard will also present his report, with a likely reminder of the electronic recycling day set for this Saturday, Feb. 9 at the old Newton Wire and cable building on Third Street. That is set for 9 to 1 Saturday.
There may be a closed session to discuss personnel issues, but it’s not clear if an executive session will be held.
