Carmi Summer League Sign Ups This Week
The Carmi Recreational Summer League sign ups got underway this weekend and continue through next weekend.
Registration was held from 8 until noon, Saturday (feb. 2) and then from, 5 until 7 tonight, Monday Feb. 4. Sign-ups will continue Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 5 until 7 p.m.
The last day to register will be Saturday, Feb. 9 from 8 until noon.
Registration will be held at White County Ford on Highway 1, on the west edge of Carmi.
There will be a $50 charge for one player; $80 for two players and $100 for a family, three or more players, living in the same household. The registration fee covers the cost of uniforms; shirt, hat or shirt and socks, plus insurance for the season.
The fees will also help cover the cost of treats for the teams.
There are several age groups for both girls and boys. T-ball is for boys and girls going into kindergarten or four years old by Jan 1 of this year.
There are three levels in girls softball, as well as three levels in boys baseball.
Pinto league is for first and second grades. Mustang players are in the third to fifth grade and Bronco’s are in the sixth to eighth grade. That covers both girls softball and boys baseball.
It was pointed out that credit cards can be used to pay registration fees.
