Indiana Man’s Death Apparent Suicide
Saturday morning was anything but routine for the White County Sheriff’s Department as shortly before 8:30, county dispatch received a call about a body laying on the ground, next to a vehicle on the Interstate 64 westbound on-ramp, south of Grayville.
Officers arrived to discover a Ford pickup truck parked along the on-ramp and a male subject laying on the ground on the passenger side of the truck. It was apparent the man had a gunshot wound to the head and was deceased.
An Illinois State Police Crime Scene technician was called to the scene and the ramp was closed to traffic at that time.
As authorities removed the body, a Glock 9mm handgun was located underneath the man, who was later identified as Glenn H. Norris, 60, of Deputy, Indiana.
While it was considered an apparent suicide, the investigation continues.
White County Sheriff Doug Maier said his agency was assisted at the scene by White County Coroner, White County Ambulance, Grayville Police and the Illinois State Police
