White County Residents Going to Prison
Two White County residents received prison sentences in White County Circuit Court Monday, according to White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud, the prosecutor in both cases.
28 year old Misty McFarland of Carmi was sentenced to five years in a DOC facility on a charge of forgery, a class three felony. She was also sentenced to five years on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. McFarland will serve a year of mandatory supervised release on each charge as well.
Carmi Police were the lead investigating agency in the McFarland case. She was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge.
Webb was also the presiding judge in a case against Enfield resident, 31 year old James Tyner.
Tyner was sentenced to five years in prison on a class four felony charge of criminal damage to property. He will also serve one year supervised release.
Tyner was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution, which included close to $20,000 to one individual and $428 to another individual. Tyner’s case was investigated by the White County Sheriff’s Department.
Brian Shinkle represented Tyner as the public defender.
