Huck’s Makes Generous Donation to Cops and Kids

Huck’s President Murat Tokad presented Jonathan Lucas with a check for $2,500 for the Cops and Kids Christmas program.

White County FOP Lodge 249’s Cops and Kids Christmas Program and Huck’s Karing for Kids program are teaming up this year to provide a memorable morning for children selected to participate.

At this time, 65 kids have been selected and will go on a $200 shopping spree for presents and needed clothes at Wal Mart on Dec. 22. After shopping, the children and their parents/guardians will be treated to breakfast and entertainment at the Floral Hall at the White County fairgrounds, provided by Huck’s. The children will also receive a grab bag of goodies and of course, Santa will be making an appearance.

Carmi Chief of Police Jason Carter and Officer Lucas, a longtime advocate of the program thanked everyone who donated to the program and the Karing for Kids program. Although we get to have the fun of shopping with the children, it is you, the community who makes these programs successful with your generous donations. Thank you very much and God Bless.

One can still donate at the Carmi Police Department of White County Sheriff’s Department. Donations will also be accepted at Maier’s Grocery in Crossville, Dollar General Store or Doug’s Mart in Norris City. One may also mail a donation to Fraternal Order of Police (Cops and Kids) at 108 North Main Cross, Carmi, IL 62821.
