Carmi to Benefit from Regional Grants
Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission submitted and received three grants from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) for the City of Carmi, City of Bridgeport and Big Mound Township.
The City of Carmi will receive $90,387 to replace the sewer line along Marguerite Street, install a new lift station, hookup three (3) new residences that currently do not have city sewer and relocate the water line along Marguerite Street.
The City of Bridgeport will receive $500,000 to improve the failing sewage treatment lagoon and sewer system.
Big Mound Township will receive $111,018 to install new water lines and hookup seven (7) homes that do not have water service in the Boyleston Waterworks district.
