Cops and Kids Christmas Donations Needed
The White County Fraternal Order of Police is again accepting donations for the Cops and Kids Christmas Program.
The program benefits underprivileged children in White County and will take place December 22 at the Carmi Wal-mart. This is the 19th year for the program, which allows the children to shop with a “cop” for holiday gifts and clothes. Each child will shop with a member of the FOP.
Applications may be picked up at the Carmi Police Department or the White County Sheriff’s Department. One may also pick up an application at City Hall in Norris City.
Donations may be made at the Carmi Police Department or White County Sheriff’s Department. Donations will also be accepted at Maier’s Grocery in Crossville, Dollar General Store or Dougs Food Mart, both in Norris City.
Donations may also be mailed to the Fraternal Order of Police (Cops and Kids) at 108 North Main Cross, Carmi, Il 62821.
Jonathan Lucas, of the Carmi Police Department, who has been actively involved with the program since its inception, thanked everyone for their generosity and urged everyone to help out by making a donation to this program to help out those children who may not have as much as other children during the Christmas holiday.
