Illinois State Police STEP Results
Illinois State Police conducted special traffic enforcement patrols throughout the area last month including White, Wayne, Gallatin and Saline Counties.
The STEP patrols allow state police to provide increased enforcement for impaired driving, occupant restraint violations, speeding and distracted driving violations during the National Click It or Ticket campaign.
In White County there were 43 speeding citations and warnings issued.
State police cited 50 drivers in Wayne County for speeding.
Saline and Gallatin County drivers were cited for one occupant restraint violation; along with 22 speeding citations and written warnings.
Driving the posted speed limit, sober, not distracted and buckled up will save your life and the lives of others.
The STEP patrols are funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
