WADI Withdrawing From Senior Programs
Southeastern Illinois Area Agency on Aging reported with regret that Wabash Area Development Inc (WADI) will be withdrawing participation in senior programs beginning Dec. 21.
A spokesman for the Area Agency on Aging said they were surprised by the decision, but will continue to administer senior services including those serviced by WADI. It was pointed out the Aging board will be addressing the issue at their next board meeting, searching for a long-term solution to ensure no interruption in services for seniors.
Staff members are already working on that and promised to provide service to area seniors.
WADI’s announcement was apparently budget related, as state and federal monies used by WADI continue to dwindle.
