White County Court Sends Four to Prison
White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud is reporting the sentencing of four individuals to an Illinois Department of Corrections facility occurred this week in White County Circuit Court.
Willie R. Wiseman, 34 of Carmi was sentenced to seven years in prison on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony. Wiseman will also serve one year mandatory supervised release. He was also sentenced to seven years on a charge of possession of firearm ammunition by a felon, a Class 3 felony. Wiseman will serve the sentences concurrently, as they were imposed at the same time.
Carmi Police was the investigating agency and Wiseman’s arrest stems from a July standoff in Carmi. He was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. The Honorable T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge.
56 year old Larry E. Myers of Crossville received a four year sentence for delivery of methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony. Myers will also serve two years mandatory supervised release. Myers had previously been on probation, but that was revoked with this sentence being imposed. His case was investigated by the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force. Attorney Jay Walden represented Myers. Judge Webb presided over the case.
Deanna M. Wright, 39 of New Haven was sentenced to three years in prison on a Class 3 felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. She will serve one year supervised mandatory release. Wright had been on probation, which was revoked with her sentencing. Carmi Police was the lead agency in the Wright case. She was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. Webb was also the presiding judge in this case.
Following a sentencing hearing earlier this week, Shannon Martin, 37 of Hazard, Ky, was sentenced to four years in a DOC facility on a Class 2 felony charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Martin will serve two years supervised release. Martin’s case was investigated by Illinois State Police. Shinkle represented martin, who requested the court put him on probation, However Judge Webb imposed the sentence to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
