Halloween Hours Changed
Due to the possibility of heavy rains moving into the area Tuesday night and expectations that the rain will continue into Wednesday evening has caused the City of Carmi to change some Halloween plans.
The Trunk or Treat program that had been scheduled for Wednesday evening has been moved to Tuesday. The hours will still be from 5:30 until 7 and the event will be held in the parking lot behind the City Building.
Plans are for the Carmi Fire Department to participate in the Trunk or Treat and the fire station will be closed at that time. Plans are for the fire department to have a fire truck on display during the Trunk or Treat event.

The rains have also prompted the city to change the hours for trick or treating. City wide trick or treating will be allowed from 4 until 8 Tuesday evening. Area residents are reminded to turn on their porch lights if you want to treat the children. And area trick or treaters are reminded to only knock on the doors of homes, where the porchlight is on.
