Domestic Dispute Covered by Sheriff’s Office
A Crossville domestic dispute ended with one person in jail.
According to the White County Sheriff’s Department incident report: Patti J. Hyatt of 706 W. Main Str., Crossville called the sheriff’s office reporting her boyfriend, Sherman Hilborn of the same address had hit her and she wanted him out of her mobile home.
A deputy and a Carmi Police officer responded to the Crossville residence and after hearing from both Hyatt and Hilborn arrested Hilborn on a charge of domestic battery.
Hilborn was transported to the City County jail in Carmi,following the incident which was reported shortly before midnight Monday.
The Sheriff’s Department also made two warrant arrest Monday, both involving subjects, already in trouble with the law.
The first arrest occurred around 9 Monday morning, when the courthouse security officer informed the sheriff’s department that Vicki E. Thomas, 55, of Fairfield was in the courthouse and was wanted on an outstanding White County warrant. Thomas was arrested and after booking at the jail, returned to court for a first appearance. She was then returned to the jail, pending the posting of $1000 cash bond.
Later Monday, Mark W. Johnson ,also scheduled for a court hearing was arrested on an additional charge of retail theft, under $500. Johnson was also booked at the jail and returned to court ,where he was advised of the charges. Bond was set at $250 cash and Johnson was returned to jail, pending the posting of bond.
