Carmi White County senior commits to John A Logan

Jan 30th, 2014

Rogers has posted some impressive slugging numbers while competing for Carmi. Last year, she belted seven home runs with 36 runs batted in and scored 46 runs with a robust .516 batting average and .594 on-base percentage. As a sophomore she enjoyed a three-homer game. As a freshman, she knocked homers in three consecutive games.

For her efforts, Rogers was named Black Diamond All-Conference Most Valuable Player and was also picked to the All-State team this past spring.

“Kelsey has had a lot of success at the plate,” according to Vols head coach Bruce Jilek. “We will be losing a big bat at the end of this spring in Heather Johnson and need someone to step up immediately. We think Kelsey could do just that.”

Rogers is a utility infielder and will enjoy a scholarship.  While playing softball for John A. Logan, she'll study physical education.
